Terran Federation Cavalry

Terran Federation Infantrymen are the backbone of mankind's military machine - consisting of fighting men and women from each of the Terran collectives throughout Human-controlled space.  Admission into the Federation mandates that each citizen serve a term in the armed forces.  In exchange, each member world, space station, or permanent mobile fleet receive the protection of the full force and might of the Terran Federation Military from any external threat.

Federation Cavalrymen are a rare sight, and make use of living mounts - usually Terra-bred horses though more exotic and alien mounts are used from time to time.  When terrain proves particularly difficult, a living mount may prove to be the only option for forward scouting and assault units.  These specialized soldiers are armed with standard issue laser rifles, and explosive-tipped lances for assaults.
